Dori is a precious little Miniature filly sired by Cohn’s Exotic Echo and out of Leesa Conley’s mare Cassie. Katherine and Pat delivered Dori, and a tough delivery it was. She was a red-bag delivery as well as being upside down in the birth canal and she had one front leg turned back. We really didn’t think we’d get her out in time! As a result of her difficult birth, Dori was oxygen deprived and a “dummy foal.” Katherine, Pat, Sue, and Leesa spent the first week of her life taking turns waking Dori up every hour to remind her to nurse. Once we knew she would live, we named her “Dori” after the cute little fish in the animated movie “Finding Nemo” who had the short-term memory problems. Leesa and Katherine co-owned Dori until Leesa gave Katherine full ownership as a Christmas present! |

NJ’s Lacey Lily Cat is a lovely bay and white tobiano Shetland mare. She’s already shown a few times and has done well in Liberty and Driving. We plan to show her more in 2008. |

Rosa Roca’s Cameo is our best Miniature broodmare. She is the dam of Rosa Roca’s Run For The Roses, Rosa Roca’s Designed In Color, and Rosa Roca’s Sumpin Special. Cameo is a bay and white splash overo sired by Rosa Roca’s Tailor Made and out of Rosa Roca’s Paint My Bonnet. |

RH Golden Girl is one of those mares you don’t get the chance to buy very often - a consistent producer of quality foals. I bought her and then went back and bought three of her daughters! Terrible picture, but a nice mare. Goldie is getting up there in years but still produces nice babies. She has a permanent home here at Rosa Roca. You can see her most recent foal, Rosa Roca’s Easter Extravaganza, on the For Sale page. |
Vloedman’s Morning Star is another older mare but a consistent producer. She’s the dam of Rosa Roca’s Paint My Bonnet, who is turn is the dam of Rosa Roca’s Cameo. Star is a minimal splash overo and has brought a lot of color and quality to our breeding program. Due to the fact that we’re drastically cutting our breeding herd, Star is FOR SALE to the right home. See the Sales Page for more information. |
Xena is a standard-sized donkey who protects our broodmares from dogs and coyotes. She’s very good at her job! She’s even been seen chasing cats and squirrels out of the pasture and away from her “girls.” She was in foal when we bought her, and her daughter “Gabby” is now the guard donkey at Daystar Miniatures. I guess Xena’s protective nature runs in the family! Thanks, Xena, for all your hard work. |
Maggie is a Miniature Donkey that Katherine bought to protect Dori. They became instant friends and are now nearly inseparable. If Dori goes to any horse shows, Maggie will likely go with her. |
Shout N Bout Roses EDV is a sweet silver bay Shetland mare. Tess, as we call her, is the dam of our filly Rosa Roca’s The One And Only. Tess made us proud with an All Star placing in 2007 in Classic Broodmares. Way to go, Tess! We plan to breed Tess this year to our new stallion, Establo Picasso. |
Rosa Roca’s The One And Only (better known as April) is a 2007 Classic Shetland filly sired by Martin’s Mardi Gras Fire N Ice and out of Tess. We’ve only shown her a time or two, but plan to haul her more in 2008 and later train her to drive. |
Rosa Roca’s Run For The Roses is a beautiful bright sorrel minimal splash overo mare out of Rosa Roca’s Cameo and sired by Bertrand’s Cisco Kid (see Sale Page). We taught Rosie to drive in 2007 and showed her twice. She placed very well in a large class her first time out! She’ll be shown more in 2008, we hope, and she’s also FOR SALE. See Sale Page for more information. |

Whata Sunny Delite is Pat’s buckskin Quarter Horse mare. She was shown when she was younger and then raised a couple of babies. Now, she just stands around getting fat and occasionally giving a riding lesson. |
